A new block of flats is to be built on the site of a derelict Coventry pub.
Planning chiefs at Coventry City Council have approved plans to build a total of 19 flats on the site of the former Chestnut pub in Brade Drive, Walsgrave.
The part-two and part-three storey building will house 17 one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom flats once the applicants, the Coventry-based Hall Bros, have completed work.
The Chestnut – which was formerly known as the Leg & Cramp – closed its doors for good in October 2013 and was sold off to the developers by Marston’s after its owners struggled to make a profit from the venue.
