Car ploughs into flats in Wood End during police chase

The dark Audi smashed through iron railings and into the front door of the building



The dark Audi ploughed into Greenfinch Court, on the corner of Deedmore Road and Henley Road, Wood End, shortly after midnight.

One eye-witness said the sporty car smashed through road signs and a metal fence before hitting the front of the flats.

He said there had been a police chase leading up to the collision.

Two people were arrested at the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A car was spotted on Sewall Highway at 12.20am.

"Our officers have attempted to stop the vehicle which then made off.

"There was a short pursuit and the vehicle evaded officers.

"A few minutes later it was then found collided with the flats.

"Two men have been arrested."
