Coronation Street had a narrow victory in the soap ratings on first-run showings on Friday evening (February 13), overnight figures show.

Corrie's 7.30pm airing was the most-watched programme of the day, bringing in 6.98m (34.0%) on ITV as 12-year-old Faye discovered that she is pregnant. 6.63m (30.7%) returned at 8.30pm and 138k (0.7%) on +1 as Faye decided not to share her shocking news with her family.

EastEnders was ahead of the second Corrie, attracting 6.91m (32.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with the death of original character Nick Cotton. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 320k (2.1%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.89m (30.5%) at 7pm on ITV as vengeful Emma caused chaos for Adam and Aaron's new business.

Hollyoaks appealed to 854k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lockie found himself in hot water with Trevor. E4's first look was the day's top-rated multichannel show with 584k (3.0%) at 7pm and 182k (0.8%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 632k (8.2%) at 1.45pm and 788k (5.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Amber's love triangle came to a head.

Home and Away appealed to 229k (3.0%) at 1.15pm and 597k (3.4%) at 6pm, while 5*'s first look had 359k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.75m (23.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
