Nigel Farage has been named Briton of the Year by The Times today after a "stellar" year for him and the UK Independence Party (Ukip).
The 50-year-old was described as "game-changing" politician and was honoured for "bulldozing" his party into the political mainstream during 2014.
This year Ukip emerged victorious in the European elections and secured their first two MPs after victories in two separate by-elections.
The Times wrote: "Mr Farage set the political agenda for 2014 and will play a prominent role in the election to come.
"For these accomplishments and more, he has earned his perennial place in the headlines and is named today as The Times Briton of the Year."
