Commonwealth Games coverage tops Sunday night viewing

BBC One's coverage of the Commonwealth Games topped a quiet Sunday, according to overnight ratings.

The sporting event averaged 3.50 million (17.8%) at 7.15pm, with a peak of 4.25m (22.1%) at 10pm.

On BBC Two, Dragons' Den attracted 2.35m (11.8%) at 8pm, followed by Red Arrows: Inside the Bubble with 2.35m (11.2%) at 9pm.

ITV's Catchphrase entertained 2.54m (14.0%) at 7.15pm (212,000/1.2% on +1), while Foyle's War brought in 2.32m (11.3%) at 8pm (199k/1.1%).

On Channel 4, The Mill was seen by 1.62m (8.1%) at 8pm (194k/0.9%). Child Genius appealed to 1.29m (6.2%) at 9pm (261k/1.6%).

Channel 5's Big Brother continued with 1.07m (5.1%) at 9pm (182k/1.1%).

On BBC Three, Family Guy topped the multichannels with 996k (5.3%) at 10pm and 1.19m (7.3%) at 10.30pm.

ITV2's TOWIE attracted 913k (5.3%) at 10pm (140k/1.4%).
