Commonwealth Games coverage tops Thursday with 3.6m

BBC One's Commonwealth Games coverage topped Thursday's ratings outside soaps, overnight data reveals.

The first evening of action brought in an average of 3.63 million (20.5%) from 7pm, peaking at 4.34m (23.3%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Natural World appealed to 1.25m (7.1%) at 8pm, followed by The Honourable Woman with 1.49m (7.8%) at 9pm.

ITV's Harbour Lives was seen by 2.16m (12.1%) at 8.30pm, while Diamond Geezers and Gold Dealers attracted 2.36m (12.3%) at 9pm (207,000/1.3% on +1).

On Channel 4, Amazing Spaces: Shed of the Year fascinated 1.62m (9.2%) at 8pm (353k/1.8%). Embarrassing Bodies gathered 1.06m (5.5%) at 9pm (266k/1.7%).

Channel 5's Autopsy: The Last Hours of Michael Hutchence brought in 1.15m (6.0%) at 9pm (122k/0.8%), while Big Brother continued with 1.14m (7.1%) at 10pm.

Family Guy topped the multichannels on BBC Three with 782k (9.1%) at 11.35pm.
