A rescued kitten has proved that cats really do have nine lives after showing some fighting spirit.
The tiny, six-week-old black feline was found abandoned in a locked cat carrier in Warwick along with his three siblings.
All four were taken to the Avonvale Veterinary Centre in Warwick , where vets Simon Davies and Emily Banks found them barely alive.
“They had obviously been in the carrying box for some time and were in a terrible state,” said Simon, Avonvale’s group clinical director.
“It quickly became apparent that we couldn’t save the other three but one of them had a chance of survival.
“We immediately gave him intravenous fluids and he started to respond.
“He was then given intensive care nursing in our small animal hospital. A day later he was playing with a toy mouse in his recovery kennel.”
Simon has taken the little fighter home and has decided to name him Bruno.
