Council tax help line

Mon Apr 07, 2014 5:30 pm

Council tax help line, anyone used it yet? Best of luck!

Only Coventry Council could have the lack of brains/foresight/common sense to introduce a new system at the busiest time of their year. I spent over 30 minutes getting nowhere, going round and round. In the end I ended up contacting the main council office who found a way of inserting me into the system so that I could talk to a live person!

CCC couldn't run a proverbial in a brewery!

I normally just email them although this year I didn't need to as they got their figures right first time.

Forget about phoning any helpline on a Monday as they're usually deluged with calls.

I emailed them, they haven't replied! It turns out that they have acted on my email though, but the :censored: didn't bother to tell me!

The standards delivered to the good people of this city by these imbeciles is simply not acceptable. I have raised a formal complaint with them, but I know in reality I'm wasting my time.

If cretins could fly, the council house would be an airport!

Had a reply to my complaints today! - Took them long enough didn't it? Maybe they get a lot of complaints?

Well, they agreed with me on every point I raised. They blamed their IT supplier for the root cause, apologised on his behalf; apologised for assuming I wanted email billing; and apologised for not communicating with me properly. But you can bet your life nothing will change. Next year we will see the same silliness and ineptitude, because nobody has been reprimanded or fired.

BTW, they didn't apologise for their terse letter to me because my first council tax installment was late due to their ineptitude.

I stand by my earlier comment about the council house being like an airport.
