Coronation Street was Wednesday's top-rated soap (March 26) as Phelan continued to make life difficult for the Windass family, overnight figures show.
7.65m (36.1%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 286k (1.3%) on +1 as Phelan issued a harsh new penalty following Owen's attempt to steal from him.
Emmerdale continued with 6.38m (32.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 226k (1.1%) on +1 as Belle came close to confessing to Dom.
Hollyoaks attracted 1.08m (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Peri's confusion let Danny off the hook over his fling with John Paul, while E4's first look claimed 676k (3.4%) at 7pm and 155k (0.7%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, the continued fallout from Kathy's revelation in Neighbours interested 558k (8.4%) at 1.45pm and 833k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 226k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 657k (3.8%) at 6pm and 438k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors had 1.43m (21.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
