Charlie wins 'So You Think You Can Dance'

Charlie Bruce has won the first UK series of So You Think You Can Dance.

The 19-year-old beat Tommy Franzén and third-placed Lizzie Gough in the public vote to take the title and £100,000 prize.

Bruce has also won the chance to appear on the US version of the programme.

On hearing the news, she burst into tears and sobbed: "I'm absolutely speechless, thank you so much. I did it!"

Judge Nigel Lythgoe joked that he felt "exhausted", saying: "To have seen Tommy and Charlie grow across the series... both deserved to be here, both were fabulous. I think Charlie edged it tonight and I'm going to be so excited to take her to America."

Bruce added: "I'm going to remember absolutely everything. I'll never forget this. I'll never forget this ever."
