Hour-long EastEnders attracts 7 million on Thursday

EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Thursday evening (February 20) with its hour-long episode, overnight figures show.

The latest visit to Walford, which clashed with Emmerdale for 15 minutes, pulled in 7.04m (30.7%) from 7.30pm on BBC One as Kat suggested approaching Janine for help with her mission to get Stacey home for good. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 609k (4.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale suffered a dip with its own hour-long episode, attracting 5.62m (25.7%) from the earlier time of 6.45pm on ITV and 165k (0.7%) on +1 as Nicola and Bernice teamed up against Anton.

During the 15-minute clash period itself, EastEnders and Emmerdale were neck-and-neck with 5.54m viewers each.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks continued with 951k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as John Paul faced a terrible dilemma over whether to save rapist Finn. E4's first look followed with 758k (3.5%) at 7pm and 211k (0.9%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 578k (7.0%) at 1.45pm and 773k (4.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away interested 175k (2.1%) at 1.15pm, 614k (3.3%) at 6pm and 446k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.53m (18.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
