RSPCA bosses in Coventry have appealed for help in finding new homes for a family of four dogs.

The quartet's owner died last year and they have been stuck at the Coventry and Nuneaton Animal Centre since October. There has been little-to-no interest in them from potential owners in that time.

And now centre bosses are hoping to find the group - dubbed Chaos, Scruff, Trinity and Brindle - a new home just in time for Valentine's Day. They said the dogs had been too well-looked after and had been on the portly side before a new fitness regime kicked them back into shape.

They are available in pairs or on their own.

Brindle - the mum of the bunch - is a cross breed who knows basic commands and is house-trained. She is looking for an active family home who can continue to help her on her weight loss regime and can live with children from four years upwards as well as with other dogs and possibly cats.

Scruff - believed to be the dad - is another cross breed with a top personality. But he can be nervous in new situations so needs an owner who can help build his confidence. He can live with other dogs and possibly cats and is looking for a family home with children that are used to having dogs around.

Chaos is baby of the group, with bosses saying he is nothing like his name. He lacks confidence and needs an owner who will spend time encouraging and socialising him to new things. He knows basic commands and walks well on the lead. He could live with children who are confident around dogs from the age of four years and would benefit from living with another dog.

Trinity - another of the babies - arrived at the centre with the most weight to lose. She is a well-rounded dog on all levels and gets on well with dogs and people. She could live with other dogs and a family with children four years upwards. She knows lots of basic commands like sit, come and paw and is fantastic on the lead.

Anyone suitable should contact the centre on 024 76 336616 or visit the Coundon Wedge Drive site anytime between 11am – 4pm everyday except Tuesday.
