Clashing with ITV's coverage of the Man United game, the Walford soap pulled in 7.05m (33.8%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Roxy made a move on bad boy Carl. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 584k (4.0%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 6.59m (33.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 149k (0.7%) on +1 as Adam and Ross made a bet over Katie.
Holby City, which was also up against the football, interested 4.47m (19.9%) at 8pm on BBC One.
Hollyoaks managed 1.11m (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Dirk put pressure on Cindy, while E4's first look followed with 678k (3.4%) at 7pm and 149k (0.7%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 608k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 897k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 245k (3.6%) at 1.15pm, 730k (4.1%) at 6pm and 427k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.32m (20.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
