The one-off Tuesday outing was seen by 7.53m (32.0%) at 8pm on ITV and 340k (1.4%) on +1 as Peter had a heart-to-heart with Tina on the eve of his wedding to Carla.

Emmerdale's hour-long episode, which saw Ross Barton at the centre of more problems, pulled in 7.19m (32.9%) from 7pm on ITV and 189k (0.8%) on +1.

Unsurprisingly, EastEnders was dented by its clash with Emmerdale and the rival soap's head start, bringing in 5.14m (22.5%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ronnie delivered bad news to Kat and Alfie. BBC Three's repeat screening was boosted to 709k (4.7%) at 10.30pm.

During the 30-minute clash period itself, Emmerdale had 7.02m (30.7%).

Holby City also dipped against tough competition from Coronation Street and I'm a Celebrity, managing 3.46m (14.3%) at 8pm on BBC One.

Hollyoaks entertained 1.08m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Dodger confronted Sienna over her baby lie, while E4's first look followed with 648k (3.1%) at 7pm and 201k (0.9%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 572k (8.2%) at 1.45pm and 940k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away appealed to 237k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 739k (4.0%) at 6pm and 453k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors secured 1.37m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
