Hollyoaks had one of its highest E4 first look figures of the year on Wednesday evening (November 6) as Will Savage's storyline came to an end, overnight figures show.
953k (4.5%) watched at 7pm on E4 as Will's twisted behaviour culminated in a rooftop showdown with Dodger. Hollyoaks was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day and a further 261k (1.2%) caught the episode an hour later on +1.
Will's exit proved more popular on first look than the recent council flats explosion and provided the highest E4 figure since Brendan's exit in March.
Hollyoaks also performed well on Channel 4 as 1.28m (6.3%) watched Will hold his family hostage in the traditional 6.30pm slot.
Coronation Street was the most-watched soap of the day as 8.48m (38.1%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 369k (1.6%) on +1 for the latest struggles between Roy and Hayley.
Emmerdale attracted 7.11m (33.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 391k (1.7%) on +1 as Jai tried to keep Sam quiet over Archie's paternity.
On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 625k (8.6%) at 1.45pm and 1.04m (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 238k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 745k (4.1%) at 6pm and 488k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.74m (24.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
