EastEnders came out on top in the soap ratings on Halloween night, according to overnight data.
The BBC One soap attracted 6.42 million (31.6%) at 7.30pm, as Michael began to carry out his plan to murder Janine. BBC Three's repeat was seen by 480,000 (3.3%) at 10pm.
ITV's Emmerdale interested 6.31m (33.4%) at 7pm (115k/0.6% on +1), as Cain decided whether or not to return to crime. A second episode also brought in 6.31m (30.7%) at 8pm (229k/1.1%).
Waterloo Road's latest episode gathered 2.61m (12.6%) at 8pm on BBC One.
On Channel 4, Hollyoaks appealed to 786k (4.3%) at 6.30pm, while E4's first-look followed with 480k (2.5%) at 7pm.
Earlier, Neighbours was seen by 616k (8.2%) at 1.45pm and 851k (5.5%) at 5.30pm. Home & Away entertained 225k (2.8%) at 1.15pm and 644k (3.8%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look brought in 372k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
On BBC One, Doctors continued with 1.34m (17.9%) at 1.45pm.
