'Emmerdale' beats 'EastEnders' in Thursday ratings

Emmerdale came out on top in the soap ratings on Thursday, according to overnight data.

Cameron's prison van escape was seen by 7.06 million (35.5%) at 7pm on ITV (125,000/0.6% on +1). The aftermath attracted 6.62m (29.7%) at 8pm (198k/0.9%).

BBC One's EastEnders brought in 6.74m (32.8%) at 7.30pm, as Dexter dashed from the hospital ahead of his operation. Waterloo Road gathered 3.02m (13.7%) at 8pm.

On Channel 4, Hollyoaks interested 854k (4.6%) at 6.30pm, while E4's first-look was seen by 567k (2.8%) at 7pm (109k/0.5%).

E4's latest episode of Hollyoaks Later appealed to 414k (2.6%) at 10pm (106k/1.3%).

Earlier, BBC One's Doctors attracted 1.27m (19.5%) at 1.45pm.

On Channel 5, Home & Away entertained 257k (3.9%) at 1.15pm and 732k (4.4%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look gathered 432k (2.3%) at 6.30pm.

Neighbours was seen by 667k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 842k (5.9%) at 5.30pm.
