Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Friday (September 13), overnight data reveals.

Karl's admission that he started the Rovers fire that killed Sunita attracted 8.85 million (38.7%) at 8.30pm on ITV. The 7.30pm instalment was earlier seen by 8.75m (42.7%).

Emmerdale attracted 6.93m (36.1%) at 7pm (204k/1% on ITV+1).

On BBC One, EastEnders brought in 6.83m (32.4%) at 8pm. The BBC Three repeat at 10.30pm had 456k (2.9%) at 10.30pm. Earlier, Doctors appealed to 1.45m (21.4%) at 1.45pm.

Channel 4's Hollyoaks interested 830k (4.6%) at 6.30pm (63k/0.3%), while E4's first-look was seen by 576k (3%) at 7pm (80k/0.4%).

On Channel 5, Home and Away gathered 271k (4%) at 1.15pm and 549k (3.4%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look was seen by 308k (1.7%) at 6.30pm.

Neighbours attracted 643k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 773k (5.3%) at 5.30pm.
