'Luther' tops ratings for BBC One on Tuesday night...

Luther topped Tuesday's ratings outside of soaps despite another dip, overnight data reveals.

Idris Elba's BBC One drama lost 300,000 viewers from last week but still easily won overall with 4.41m (21.2%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Raymond Blanc's How To Cook Well interested 1.42m (7.9%) at 8pm, followed by The Cruise with 1.39m (7.2%) at 8.30pm. Route Masters was seen by 1.73m (8.3%) at 9pm.

On ITV, Nature's Newborns appealed to 2.23m (12.7%) at 7.30pm (128k/0.7 on +1). Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Garden attracted 2.39m (12.8%) at 8pm (210k/1.0%). Robson Green's How the North was Built educated 1.76m (8.5%) at 9pm (150k/0.9%).

Channel 4's Gok Like was seen by 889k (4.8%) at 8pm (120k/0.6%), followed by Princess Diana's Dress: The Auction with 1.91m (9.2%) at 9pm (284k/1.7%).

Run's second episode dropped by almost 200,000 to 1.07 (6.2%) at 10pm (125k/1.3%).

On Channel 5, Gibraltar: Britain in the Sun brought in 1.05m (5.7%) at 8pm. CSI thrilled 1.51m (7.3%) at 9pm (177k/1.0%).

Big Brother's fallout from Daley's ejection was seen by 1.60m (9.4%) at 10pm (166k/1.8%), while Bit on the Side's interview with the housemate climbed to 903k (9.8%) at 11pm.

BBC Three's Family Guy tickled 700k (7.1%) at 11pm, while New Girl tickled 561k (2.7%) at 9pm on E4 (170k/0.9%).

On MTV, Geordie Shore dipped to 485k (2.8%) at 10pm for its second episode of the current series.
