Wednesday viewing figures: 'The Apprentice' drops 300k

The Apprentice continued to top Wednesday evening's ratings outside of soaps on BBC One, according to overnight figures.

However, Lord Alan Sugar's latest firing dropped 300,000 viewers from last week's peak audience to 6.14 million (27.0%) at 9pm. BBC Two's The Apprentice: You're Fired! attracted 2.20m (11.3%) at 10pm.

Earlier, Watchdog was seen by 4.02% (21.0%) at 8pm. Match of the Day's coverage of Italy v Japan in the Confederations Cup scored 1.35m (16.9%).

BBC Two's Airport Live continued with 2.00m (10.4%) at 8pm, followed by Horizon with 1.32m (5.8%) at 9pm.

On ITV, All-Star Mr & Mrs lost around 500k viewers from last week to 3.68m (19.2%) at 8pm (129k/0.6% on +1). Love & Marriage dipped by the same number to 3.19m (14.0%) at 9pm (189k/1.1%).

Channel 4's new designer series Hollywood Me attracted 718k (3.7%) at 8pm. 24 Hours in A&E interested 1.88m (8.3%) at 9pm (353k/2.1%).

The latest episode of Dates was down to 822k (4.3%) at 10pm (126k/1.2%).

On Channel 5, NCIS entertained 1.31m (5.7%) at 9.15pm. Big Brother brought in 1.23m (7.0%) at 10pm, followed by Bit on the Side with 516k (5.6%) at 11pm.

ITV2's The Only Way is Essex grabbed 713k (4.0%) at 10pm (132k/1.4%).

The highest multichannel rating went to BBC Three's coverage of the Confederations Cup game between Brazil and Mexico with 1.21m (6.0%) at 7.30pm.

This series represents a new low for Channel 4 and I don't just mean in terms of viewing figures. :roll:
