Coronation Street tops Friday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Friday evening's (June 14) most-watched soap as Karl came close to killing Dev, overnight figures show.

7.82m (39.4%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 184k (0.8%) on +1 as Karl considered drastic measures to stop Dev's detective work, while the audience rose to 8.12m (36.9%) at 8.30pm and 244k (1.2%) on +1 as Dev unknowingly saved himself by promising to move on from Sunita's death.

EastEnders brought in 6.38m (31.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Tanya kicked Lauren out. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 395k (2.6%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale appealed to 6.35m (34.6%) at 7pm on ITV with more fallout from the hit and run, adding 160k (0.8%) on +1.

Hollyoaks claimed 916k (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Myra's discovery, while E4's first look had 452k (2.5%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 642k (9.3%) at 1.45pm, 770k (5.7%) at 5.30pm and 125k (0.7%) at 6.30pm on +1. Home and Away mustered 218k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 544k (3.5%) at 6pm and 352k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.23m (18.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
