EastEnders tops Tuesday evening's soap ratings

EastEnders was Tuesday evening's (April 9) most-watched soap with the continuing build-up to Jack and Sharon's wedding, overnight figures show.

The latest visit to Albert Square, which saw Phil discover Jack's renewed contact with ex-wife Ronnie, pulled in 7.75m (35.7%) at 7.30pm on BBC One. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 477k (3.1%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale attracted 6.56m (32.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 277k (1.3%) on +1 as Kerry left Andy's children home alone.

Holby City entertained 4.89m (21.7%) at 8pm on BBC One with Malick-centric episode 'Promises, Promises'.

ollyoaks managed 970k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 108k (0.5%) on +1 as Patrick's sinister side emerged again, while E4's first look had 683k (3.3%) at 7pm and 119k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours mustered 640k (8.0%) at 1.45pm and 940k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away grabbed 252k (3.1%) at 1.15pm, 680k (3.8%) at 6pm and 551k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.5m (18.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
