9.15m (a 31.3% share) tuned in for the latest episode of the 1950s East End period drama, making it the most-watched show of the evening.

The viewers helped boost new BBC drama Mayday, which launched at 9pm with 6.23m watching (24.7%).

Elsewhere, Top Gear still proves popular with 4.74m tuning in for the latest hijinks from Jeremy Clarkson and co.

Dancing on Ice has not matched the ratings of previous series, but still pulled in 6.66m and 5.3m for its semi-final show and results episode.

Mr Selfridge, which has already been given a second series by ITV, collected 5.03m at 9pm.

Over on Channel 5, the latest episode of US import Person of Interest was watched by 825k.

Meanwhile, the penultimate episode of Being Human was watched by 493k and the latest Got to Dance semi-final pulled in 488k.

Again, I have no idea what happened to the viewing figures for Friday and Saturday?
