Routine visiting has been stopped at a Coventry hospital where the winter bug norovirus has affected three wards.Relatives and friends of people in University Hospital have been asked not to visit unless for compassionate reasons.
The decision had not been taken lightly, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust said.
Wards would take calls regarding patients between 1400 and 1500 GMT each day from next of kin, it added.
The trust said this situation was being reviewed daily.
The Labour Ward and the maternity wards are still open to fathers-to-be and designated birth partners only.
All wards at the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby are open and visiting remains normal.
