Sounds like an 'inside job' to me?

There was an MoD store in Gosford Street in the 1960s and (very conveniently) an Army Surplus store directly opposite. I often wondered how much stock 'fell off the back of a lorry' as it turned across the street into the stores? The building was gutted by fire in 1964 and again in 1966 so we will never know.
