River Tame flood warnings after heavy rain

A series of flood warnings have been issued for the River Tame in north Warwickshire following heavy rain.

The Environment Agency said flooding was expected around Water Orton, including Marsh Lane and the Minworth Sewage Works.

The organisation said the level of the River Tame at Water Orton had been measured at 2.62m, compared with a typical range of 0.27-1.44m.

A flood warning has also been issued along the river around Nether Whitacre.

Alerts are also in place on the River Avon near Rugby and Lilbourne and The Stour in south Warwickshire.

The Environment Agency has also issued an alert for low-lying land between Grandborough and Leamington, including Long Itchington.
