EastEnders stayed around a million viewers ahead of Emmerdale yesterday evening (Tuesday, July 17), overnight data indicates.
Janine and Michael's continuing trust issues attracted 7.18m (34.7%) to the BBC One serial at 7.30pm, while 748k (3.7%) watched BBC Three's 10pm repeat.
Emmerdale appealed to 6.4m for Amy's shock clash with her mum, logging 6.17m (32.3%) on ITV1 at 7pm and 242k (1.2%) an hour later on +1.
Elsewhere, Hollyoaks delivered 906k (5%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm (+1: 104k/0.5%), then E4's dramatic first look grabbed 502k (2.6%).
After a fine run of form, Neighbours slipped back to 614k (9.4%) at 1.45pm and 881k (8.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away nabbed 726k (4.3%) and 456k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look.
BBC One's Holby City fetched a respectable 4.7m (22%) at 8pm, and Doctors averaged 1.35m (20.7%) at lunchtime for its latest episode, 'A River in Egypt'.
