Huge vehicles which feature in the hit alien movie Prometheus will be coming to Coventry.

They will be on display at Coventry Transport Museum from Saturday.

The two vehicles, RTO1 and EXO1, were made in the UK for Pinewood Studies.

Gary Hall, chief executive at the Transport Museum, said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been given these two incredible vehicles.

“It is very unusual for film studios to allow vehicles from major motion pictures to go on display.

“We are extremely privileged to be able to give the public a chance to get up close and personal with the actual vehicles that they have seen on the big screen in Prometheus.”

THOUSANDS of visitors have been taking a closer look at two space trucks featured in sci-fi blockbuster Prometheus at Coventry Transport Museum.

The RT01 and EX01, which were used in the Ridley Scott film, have been on display at the museum’s commercial vehicle gallery since Saturday. The two vehicles were made in the UK for Pinewood Studios and featured in the prequel to the Alien movies.

Gary Hall, chief executive of the museum, said: “Thousands of visitors have already visited the museum to see the two vehicles.

“When the first visitors arrived on Saturday many of them were expecting the Prometheus vehicles to be outside the museum – they couldn’t believe that we had fitted something so enormous through the doors!

“We’ve had really positive feedback from visitors so far, all saying how fantastic it is to have these real-life film props available to enjoy right here in Coventry – completely free of charge.”
