Two Kenilworth planning matters discussed last Tuesday...

Postby dutchman » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:38 pm

DECISIONS about two planning matters which affect Kenilworth were made at a Warwick District Council meeting on Tuesday evening.

A proposal to build a large house adjacent to the Gables in Rouncil Lane was been refused planning permission. At Leamington town hall the district council’s planning committee voted by six to two to reject the plan.

Councillors were mostly concerned about the bulk, scale and unneighbourliness of the house.

However plans to build nine apartments and three houses on the site of a house and former builders’ storage yard in Warwick Road was unanimously accepted. Planning permission had already been granted in 2005 to build 12 apartments and three houses on the site and this new proposal was an alteration of the previous scheme.

The county council bought this land to relocate Buildbase so it could build a new Kenilworth Railway Station in Station Road.

The apartment proposal is just a back-up plan.
