Final Fantasy VII has been confirmed for a PC re-release.

An official website has revealed that the re-release of the 1997 PlayStation and PC title will be "coming soon".

Rumoured earlier this month, it will be available exclusively on Square Enix's online store and offers a number of new features.

It will include 36 in-game acomplishments, a Character Booster to increase health, magic and money, and cloud saving to play seemlessly across multiple computers.

The website added the game will require a Windows XP or above operating system, 1GB of RAM and a 2GHz processor to install and run.

A full remake has been heavily requested by fans in recent years, but Square Enix has said that would be unrealistic.

The next Final Fantasy title, musical spinoff Theatrhythm, is available now in North America and this Friday, June 6 across Europe.
