Remarkably noone was injured in the crash in Wentworth Road, which happened at about 6pm on Wednesday.

It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle when he fell ill at the wheel.

Thankfully there were no passengers on the Stagecoach bus when it mounted the kerb and collided with a garage and garden wall.

Police cordoned off the scene and the driver was taken to University Hospital in Coventry for treatment.

Stagecoach marketing manager Chris Child said: “We can confirm one of our vehicles was involved in an incident in which it made contact with the front wall of a house yesterday in Wentworth Road.

“However, nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

“Safety is our absolute priority and we will now investigate the circumstances of the incident as a matter of priority, we can however confirm there was no issue with the vehicle.”
