A Coventry nightclub has been refused permission to extend its opening hours for a special event on three nights.
Iglu, in Spon Street, asked Coventry City Council’s licensing committee if it could stay open and sell alcohol until 6am on May 25, 26 and 27.
The application went before the licensing committee on Thursday who considered objections from Coventry Police.
In a statement to the committee, PC Jo Bowes, licensing officer for Coventry Police, wrote: “The venue has been problematic with issues around crime and disorder and gang related issues.
"There have been incidents of serious violence, drugs and customers being in possession of illegal articles.”
