Gas shortage fears for Britain as demand to heat homes surges

THE freezing weather has lead to fears that Britain could run short of gas after the National Grid issued a warning yesterday.

Gas is used to heat about two thirds of Britain's homes and the national grid has seen demand surge by 30 per cent as Britain battles the cold.

In response to dwindling supplies the National Grid issued a gas balancing alert (GBA).

Rebbonk - There is enough hot air circulating in Westminster to alleviate the problem and probably enough to spare :stir:

G B states publicly that the gas supply is robust, what does mean we are in danger of running out :fuming:

How's the weather where you all are???????

Terrible down here in Kent - and it's just started snowing again :(

The farmers are having to dump hundreds of gallons of milk because the tankers can't get through to the remote farms - such a terrible waste.

You may have more snow Polly but we have more cold, if that makes any sense?

The little snow we had is now compacted under foot and turned to sheet ice.

Also spotted some streets without electricity this afternoon. Workmen were attempting to restore supplies.
