EastEnders ended the week on over eight million viewers, according to overnight data.
Friday night's episode, in which Shirley realised Andrew did not kill Heather, scored 8.15m (35.4%) at 8pm and 889k (4.4%) on BBC Three.
Including BBC Three's showing, it represents a 1.4m increase on last week's ratings.
The EastEnders omnibus, moved from Sunday afternoons, aired from midnight to 2am with an audience of 374k (8.5%).
However, Coronation Street stayed atop the soap ratings with 8.38m (38.5%) at 7.30pm (+1: 124k/0.5%) and 8.11m (33.9%) for its second instalment 8.30pm (+1: 193k/0.8%).
Emmerdale grabbed 6.59m (33.4%) at 7pm (+1: 134k/0.6%), while Hollyoaks took 828k (4.5%) and 414k (2.1%) at 7pm for E4's first look.
Neighbours pulled in 559k (7.4%) at 1.45pm and 903k (6.2%) at 5.30pm for Channel 5, while Home and Away mustered 698k (4.1%) and 498k (2.7%) for 5*'s first look.
Finally, Doctors logged 1.38m (18.5%) for BBC One.
