MP helps restore bus link for north Warwickhire villagers

Postby dutchman » Wed Mar 07, 2012 10:24 pm

Villagers in north Warwickshire have had a vital bus service restored.

MP Dan Byles stepped over concerns about the loss of the bus link from Hurley, which was causing problems for people with appointments at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.

Mr Byles said: “I wrote to the portfolio holder at Warwickshire County Council responsible for bus services to invite him to accompany one of my constituents on a journey to the hospital, which would now take so long as to be impractical.

"Partly as a result of this intervention, the issue has been looked at again and a key bus service has been reintroduced.

“The provision of bus services are particularly important in rural communities and I have been pushing hard for the villages of North Warwickshire to retain a reasonable service.”
