Man killed after being hit by train during rush hour

A man has been killed after being hit by a train during rush hour in Coventry yesterday.



The collision happened at 5.30pm on the line which forks off past the Ricoh Arena towards Nuneaton and led to delays.

He died on the track which runs adjacent to Durbar Avenue, Foleshill.

Three ambulance vehicles attended including the hazardous area response team.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “There was a goods train on the line near Durbar Avenue.

“A search of the line was conducted by emergency services and the body of a man was found by police.

“He was confirmed dead at the scene.”
