West Midlands Fire Service said a vandalised water main on the 12th floor had caused a large amount of water to flood Caradoc Hall in Henley Green.

The incident at about 16:00 GMT also caused a small fire in a ground-floor electrical room, the fire service said.

West Midlands police are investigating and said residents would spend the night in emergency accommodation.

The fire has been extinguished and the water main has been isolated, the fire service added.
