Rare picture of White Street looking towards Hales Street taken after the infamous Easter 1941 air raid. The flour mill is in the background on the left, the Swanswell is just visible on the right, the and the roof of the Hippodrome dominates the skyline in the distance. The spire in the centre of the picture belongs to Trinity School on the corner of Hales Street and Ford Street. The angle of the picture suggests it was taken from the roof of what was then the Globe cinema in Primrose Hill Street:
