The 23-year-old emerged victorious from "the closest-fought chart battle of 2011" with Olly Murs and his track 'Dance With Me Tonight', which finishes in second place after leading the midweek update.

Rihanna has now become the first female artist to achieve the chart double twice in one year with two different releases, after her sixth studio LP Talk That Talk landed at number one on the UK album chart.

Aside from Murs, DJ Avicci and Kelly Rowland both manage high-charting new entries this week, as their respective tracks 'Levels' and 'Down For Whatever' debut at four and six.

Rihanna makes her second appearance in the Top 10 at nine as a featured artist of Drake's 'Take Care', which is up from its previous finish at 12. X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson completes the best-sellers with her debut single 'Nothing's Real But Love' at ten.

Looking further into the double digits, former number one 'Read All About It' by Professor Green and Emeli Sandé stumbles four to 13, as David Guetta and Usher chalk up a greater loss with 'Without You', at 14 from last Sunday's six.

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars's Twilight track 'It Will Rain' climbs a further two places to 15 following the release of the franchise's penultimate film Breaking Dawn - Part 1.

Album chart runners-up One Direction have mixed success this week, as they witness their latest single 'Gotta Be You' plummet from three to 13 and its predecessor 'What Makes You Beautiful' advance five to 20.

JLS also take a big fall with 'Take A Chance On Me', which is down 14 to 22, while En Vogue's 1996 single 'Don't Let Go (Love)' returns to the chart at 23 following a performance by X Factor girl band Little Mix on last week's show.
