Swindon number one Scott Nicholls has agreed to return to parent club Coventry for next season.

The former British champion led the Bees to the Elite League, Knock-out Cup and Craven Shield treble in 2007.

He joined Swindon on loan at the start of last season but the team had a disappointing year in the league, finishing bottom of the table.

Robins co-owner Gary Patchett said: "We are disappointed because we wanted to talk to Scotty about next season."

He continued: "He has sent me a text message thanking us for our interest but he has agreed terms elsewhere.

"We respect his decision and thank him for his efforts in Swindon colours and wish him well.

"We move on and our team planning now goes in a different direction."

Nicholls returns to the Bees along with 2010 Elite League winning captain Chris Harris.

New Coventry owner Mick Horton added: "Scott is still a class act and I know how popular he has always been at Coventry.

"He will be a great addition for us next season. I'm looking forward to seeing him back with Bomber and I think it has to be good news all-round."
