Ratings: 'EastEnders' attracts 8.2m for Vanessa's confession

EastEnders soared past 8m viewers on Tuesday evening with Vanessa's confession of the shocking truth to Eddie, the latest audience data has revealed.

The BBC One soap was seen by 8.25m (38.5%) from 7.30pm, as Vanessa told Eddie everything and was shocked when he asked her to stay. The repeat screening fetched 870k (4.6%) on BBC Three from 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City grabbed 5.46m (24%) in the 8pm hour for the episode 'Oliver Twists', featuring Oliver's commitment being put to the test.

Emmerdale was seen by 6.64m (32.7%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm and 152k (0.7%) on +1, as Laurel was left wondering when the situation with Marlon will end.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks appealed to 1.11m (5.7%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before E4's first look at the next episode mustered 482k (2.4%) from 7pm and 100k (0.5%) on +1.

Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.6m (24.3%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 646k (9.7%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.01m (6.8%) from 5.30pm.

Home And Away managed 724k (4.2%) on Channel 5 from 6.30pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode pulled in 451k (2.3%).
