Alesha Dixon has revealed that she wants romance on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 32-year-old singer, who is a judge on the reality television show, said that she is convinced that at least one couple will fall for each other because dancing together ignites such "intense" passion.

Dixon told the Daily Star Sunday: "I'm sure there will be a romance because there has been every year. The dancing is so intense and passionate it just happens. I don't know who it will be but I'd bet money that there is some sort of affair. You spend so much time with each other it always seems to happen. The thing is I don't think anyone is single so that could make for an interesting show.

"People are saying Holly Valance and Artem Chigvintsev look great together but I don't think it will be them. Artem is so loved-up with Kara and Holly has her billionaire so she won't be going anywhere. But it will still be hard for all the celebs' partners to watch."

Past Strictly Come Dancing contestants who have been romantically involved with their partners include Natasha Kaplinsky, Kara Tointon and Ali Bastian.

Dixon said that she is backing Harry Judd or Robbie Savage to win the show, saying of Savage: "[He] is the dark horse. He's going to be competitive and sports stars generally do well. I'd also put a bit of money on Jason Donovan because he's Jason Donovan and everyone loves Jason. He's such a nice guy."

She said of Lulu: "I know she wasn't too thrilled to be partnered with Brendan Cole at first but they will be a great combination. If anyone is going to put Brendan in his place it will be Lulu.

Dixon also described Nancy Dell'Olio as "a bit of a character", adding that "she's already been complaining that her heels aren't high enough and that she'll only wear real diamonds".

Earlier this year, Dixon was rumoured to be quitting Strictly Come Dancing to become a judge on The X Factor but the reports were later revealed to be untrue.
