It'll be paid in arrears too so most claimants will lose a whole fortnight's benefit, representing a once-off saving for the government. Some of these will be forced to apply for a crisis loan from the DWP in order to survive to the end of the month.

Whitefriars Housing don't seem to have got the message yet though as they still charge rent weekly even though few of their tenants are now paid that way.
