Ratings: 'EastEnders' attracts 6.8m for Kat's baby heartache

EastEnders dipped below 7m million viewers on Tuesday evening due to stiff competition from live international football on ITV1, the latest audience data has revealed.

The BBC One soap was seen by 6.82m (29.3%) from 7.30pm, as Kat suffered fresh heartache as she lost her and Alfie's baby.

EastEnders suffered due to ITV's coverage of England's win against Wales from 7pm, but its repeat screening fetched 824k (4.1%) on BBC Three from 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City grabbed 4.65m (18.3%) in the 8pm hour for the episode 'Who Needs Enemies?', featuring Michael's bad day as he came under pressure from all quarters.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks appealed to 1.19m (6.2%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before E4's first look at the next episode mustered 618k (3%) from 7pm.

The new series of spinoff show Hollyoaks Later stayed popular after the previous night's premiere, with 459k (2.6%) watching on E4 from 10pm and 143k (1.5%) on timeshift.

Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.67m (20.8%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 715k (8.8%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.18m (7.7%) from 5.30pm.
