Soap ratings: 'EastEnders' grabs 8.3m for Ian's eventful day

EastEnders attracted more than 8.3 million viewers on Tuesday evening as Mandy Salter ensured Ian had a very eventful day, the latest audience data has revealed.

The soap was seen by 8.38m (38.4%) from 7.30pm, as Ian was left dealing with the chaos of Mandy's return to Walford. The repeat screening fetched 664k (3.1%) on BBC Three from 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City grabbed 5.3m (22.9%) in the 8pm hour for the episode 'Big Lies, Little Lies', featuring Frieda's further troubles with Lulu, with Chantelle playing peacemaker.

Emmerdale was watched by 6.67m (33.2%) on ITV1 from 7pm and 162k (0.7%) on +1, as Declan made it clear that he wanted Mia out of his life.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks appealed to 1.11m (5.9%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm and 125k (0.6%) on +1, before E4's first look at the next episode mustered 571k (2.8%) from 7pm and 138k (0.6%) an hour later.

Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.65m (20.2%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 630k (7.6%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.11m (7.5%) from 5.30pm.
