Dolly Parton to play Strictly Come Dancing red carpet launch

Dolly Parton has been confirmed as the special guest for the Strictly Come Dancing red carpet launch next month.



Country music legend Parton will play her new single 'Together You & I' on the Saturday, September 10 series premiere.

It is Parton's first UK TV performance in nearly a decade.

Parton has been one of the biggest names in the country and pop charts for 45 years with international hits 'I Will Always Love You', 'Nine to Five', 'Here You Come Again', 'Coat of Many Colours', 'Islands in the Stream' and 'Jolene'.

"My eyes are dancing, my heart is dancing, and my feet are dancing all the way to the Strictly Come Dancing season premiere, where I will be singing 'Together You & I' from my Better Day CD," said Parton.

"So dust off your dancing shoes, and join us!"

The launch will follow a similar structure to last year with the 14 celebrities only finding out the identities of their pro partners on the first night.

Footballer Robbie Savage, The One Show's Alex Jones, Nancy Dell'Olio, Holly Valance, Anita Dobson and TV astrologer Russell Grant have all been tipped to take part in the BBC one reality series.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday, September 10.
