Coventry Bees' hopes of reaching the Elite League play-offs were dealt a blow on Friday with a 49-41 home defeat by Belle Vue.

Rory Schlein was the scourge of the Bees with an impressive 17-point haul against his parent club.

Coventry's cause was not helped by having to go into the meeting with just five riders.

Bees used rider replacement for former captain Eddie Kennett (suspended) and Josh Auty failed to turn up on time.

Auty was supposed to be a late replacement for Nick Morris
