Holbrooks salon owner to close business after ram raid

A beauty salon owner says his livelihood has been “shattered to pieces” following a ram raid at his Coventry business.



The hooded yobs reversed a silver 4x4 car through Sin City salon, Holbrooks, causing more than £5,000 worth of damage.

Salon owner Michael Breen, who has been running the business for two years, gazed in disbelief when he saw his entire shop front had been destroyed.

The 36-year-old, was alerted to the incident from a woman living above the shop, in Holbrook Lane, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He said: “I had voice messages on my phone saying my shop had been broken into.

“It looks like the whole car had come into the shop a few times. The shutters had caved into the shop, the bricks have gone and whole front had gone.

“I’ve never had any problems like this before. The woman living above the shop saw the car ram its way in three times.

“It’s just a joke – I’m trying to earn an honest living and it’s been taken away from me.

“I had that much anger inside of me – I could have done anything. If I could have got my hands on them I wouldn’t have been accountable for my actions.”

The thieves got away with an empty shop till from counter – nothing else was taken.
