Magic show Dynamo continued to prove popular on Thursday night, while new Torchwood lost more viewers, according to the latest audience data.
Dynamo: Magician Impossible was seen by 909k (4.1%) on Watch in the 9pm hour, up by 100k week-on-week and 284k on the series debut three weeks ago.
Also in the 9pm hour, Torchwood: Miracle Day continued with 4.13m (18.5%) on BBC One, down by 330k week-on-week and a total slump of 750k on the series four premiere on July 14.
However, the Doctor Who spinoff was still too strong for crime drama Single Handed, which entertained 2.99m (13.4%) on ITV1 and 155k (0.9%) on +1. The Killing USA gripped 1.17m (5.3%) on Channel 4 from 9pm, and 246k (1.4%) on timeshift.
Traffic Cops had 3.57m (16.3%) on BBC One in the 8pm hour and Kids Behind Bars pulled in 1.81m (15%) from 10.45pm, while Piers Morgan Life Stories: Rod Stewart was seen by 1m (8.3%) on ITV1.
On BBC Two, a repeat of Space Shuttle: The Final Mission mustered 800k (4.3%) from 7pm and Rick Stein's Spain had 1.73m (7.9%) in the 8pm hour, along with 186k (0.9%) on BBC HD. Town with Nicholas Crane fetched 1.94m (8.7%) in the 9pm hour and Have I Got Old News For You amused 1.45m (7.8%) from 10pm.
Channel 4's Help! My House Is Falling Down attracted 1.39m (6.4%) in the 8pm hour and 287k (1.3%) on +1. 8 Out Of Ten Cats amused 880k (5%) from 10pm and 140k (1.4%) on timeshift.
How Do They Do It? grabbed 723k (3.8%) on Channel 5 in the 7pm hour. Aircrash interested 874k (4%) in the 8pm hour and Cowboy Builders attracted 1.62m (7.3%) from 9pm. Fly-on-the-wall series Candy Bar Girls appealed to 481k (2.9%) from 10pm.
Overall, ITV1 narrowly won primetime with 20.4% (+1: 0.6%) against BBC One's 20.3%. BBC Two ranked in third with 7.2%, ahead of Channel 4's 5% (+1: 1.1%) and Channel 5's 4.3%.
Elsewhere, new entertainment show Peter Andre Here 2 Help averaged 883k (4%) for ITV2 in the 9pm hour and 102k (0.6%) on +1.
