Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will no longer be limited when played offline.

Previously, Capcom announced that the PC Arcade Edition would have limitations for those who played offline. This was due to a security measure that required the game to connect online to validate each legal copy. Players who did not connect online through Games for Windows Live could not save progress or access their purchased DLC, and were restricted to 15 of the game's 39-character roster.

Though the security measure was designed to discourage pirated copies of the game, the limitations would also impact legitimate copies when not connected to the internet.

Capcom's Christian Svensson has announced that a title update will remove the offline character roster limitation shortly after the game's launch, or on launch day if the update is submitted and approved in time.

"The argument that legitimate users would have a worse experience than pirates was the loudest and most convincing." said Svensson. "We certainly don't want that to be the case and that was never our intention."

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be available as a DLC update on Xbox 360 and PS3 on June 7, and available at retail on June 24 in Europe and June 28 in North America, followed by a PC release in July.
